Grounded Notes is a twice-weekly letter from kinesiologist and functional neuro health practitioner Sinead Kelly. Real tools, honest reflections, and a little nervous system support — straight to your inbox.
The symptom no one talks about
There’s a symptom of nervous system dysregulation that nobody really names.
It’s not anxiety.
It’s not insomnia.
It’s not pain.
It’s this: You don’t feel like yourself anymore.
Maybe you used to be patient and now you’re snappy.
Maybe you used to be present and now you feel like you’re watching your life from the outside.
Maybe you used to have energy and now you’re running on fumes.
If you’ve been thinking, “When did I become this person?”
I want you to hear this clearly:
You’re not broken.
You’re not failing.
Your nervous system is overwhelmed.
And when your system is in survival mode, you lose access to the parts of you that feel like you.
The good news?
You can come back.
Not by forcing yourself to be different.
But by helping your body feel safe enough to soften.

X, Sinead
